Band Director

Bio

Trent Smith has received his bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Lafayette, LA) and his master’s degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, AZ). He is pursuing a doctor of education degree from Northcentral University (San Diego, CA). He has upheld the position of Director of Bands in White Pine County School District since 2020. Before that, Mr. Smith held positions as the Assistant Director of Bands at Central State University (Wilberforce, OH), Band Director at KIPP: Delta Collegiate High School (Helena-West Helena, AR), Director of Bands at Franklin Senior High School (Franklin, LA), and Band Director at Bunkie Magnet High School (Bunkie, LA).

Mr. Smith directs both the Beginning and Advanced Bands at White Pine Middle School, the White Pine High School Wind Ensemble and Marching Band, and leads the David E. Norman Elementary Band and the McGill Elementary School Band.

Mr. Smith’s professional affiliations include the American Bandmasters Association, National Association for Music Educators (NAfME), the Nevada Music Educators Association, the National Band Association, the American School Band Director Association (ASBDA), Phi Mu Alpha SINFONIA Music Fraternity of America (Life-Loyal Sinfonian), Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, and Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
